Firefighter adopts dog he helped save from fire

A New York firefighter who helped saved the life of a pup who was trapped during a house fire has now adopted the dog.

Lt. Anthony Muhammad was responding to a fire in the room of a three-story house in Newburgh earlier in August when members of the home told firefighters there were two dogs trapped inside.

Muhammad said the department initially found one puppy, who didn’t survive, but could not find the other. Firefighters decided to check the room in the home where the fire had initiated.
