Students are gearing up for going back to school. A KSAT community event helped the Salvation Army deliver backpacks filled with school supplies to dozens of children staying at the emergency family shelter.
The local Rotary Club also helped get uniforms for the students.
“It helps, you know. It’s a huge help for our parents. It takes a load off their back,” said Roxanne Coronado, program manager of the emergency shelter. “It eases the stress of being in the shelter alone and it gets (them) prepared for that first day of school. It’s extremely special to us.”
